Jack is all puffed up with his sense of moral superiority. I think it is high time that he was taken down a peg.

Jack does have blinders when it comes to Diane, and he won’t admit it. He promoted her without asking and he wouldn’t temporarily let her resign and when Billy had the idea.

Jack or Billy – in what context? As head of Abbott family?—(Jack). As leader of Jabot?—(Billy). As a romantic half of a couple?—(Billy). As face-off to the Newmans?—(Billy). As sentimental listener?—(Jack).

Billy because he is seeing both sides of the ploy. Jackie thinks he gets it but doesn’t.

I have to vote Team Billy because Jack loves to remind Billy what a screwup he is. Jack has a sense of entitlement to run Jabot because he is Dina and John’s only son. Ashley has a different dad so she’s not his equal. Billy is Jill’s son so that makes Jack automatically at odds with him. Tracy is the only sibling he treats as an equal. He’s his own biggest fan so doesn’t need my support!

Jack has been the steady leader of Jabot, through thick and thin, no matter what. He hasn’t disappeared to Europe or New York or lost interest due to personal problems. It doesn’t mean that Billy, Ashley AND Traci don’t have just as much right to leadership roles at Jabot. However, Jack’s lifelong devotion matters. I wouldn’t devote my life to a family corporation, no thanks. Life is too short for all those spreadsheets and budget meetings.
