I would have liked J.T to have become a regular character on the show again. I feel it is a waste of a good actor. It would have been nice to see him turn his life around.

I fully agree with how you feel Ali. I think that Y&R could have dug deeper into this domestic abuse storyline by getting in the head of JT and try to figure out why he did the things he did. Y&R could have even made a redemption storyline for JT the same way they did with Adam after he did all the awful things he did. Killing JT at this point it makes the storyline unconclusive to me. If Y&R was going to bring back a character for this storyline just kill off him 4 months later ,it should have… Read more »

I voted yes! I think it was a good dramatic ending to the storyline. What I am not okay with is the direction the story is now taking after Friday’s cliffhanger. I do not want this to be a murder mystery type story with all four women dealing with guilt and hiding a murder secret. What would have been good is calling the police and seeing how Victoria and supporting characters deal with the fact she was abused. I think this abusive story was very well done with it being character driven, but now it is plot driven. I wanted… Read more »

I said Yes for the luxury of wallowing in sweet revenge. How often do you get to enjoy that guilt free

I would have liked to have seen JT have to face the consequences of his actions. He deserved to have to be confronted by Reed and even Jack who has been behind bars for the last 2 weeks!!!!! He is getting off too easy by being dead.

I voted no because I would of liked if he went to jail and got help , I don’t like that he is dead , on Friday after I watch the episode I said no he is still alive but then on Sunday watching y&r chat and yesterday watching Monday episode I realized Ali that you are right he might be dead

First taking a life is never the answer no matter what the person did I think that he should have been charged and get the help he needs in prison because the whole he is dead is not what I wanted to see Yes Jt did terrible things to Victoria but that is not reason for him to be dead

I have just seen Friday’s episode. By the time this is posted, it may be resolved. But now, i don’t think JT is dead. We saw him bashed in the head and fall. Then in the preview, we saw the ladies acting suspicious. Maybe they scooped him up to hide somewhere (the Abbott cabin?). They can interrogate and “torture” him in their own ways, taking turns caring for him. Dead is just too final, not a good resolution. We need a bit of drama around it now. It is a soap opera after all. That way, JT could get what’s… Read more »

In the theoretical sense, which I believe is the nature in which the question is address, it is debatable whether death is a justifiable resolution for an emotionally and, somewhat limited, physically abusive husband. However if the question is regarding the specific circumstances in which JT met his “death” (if indeed that is what truly happened) then Nikki was well within her right to exercise extreme violence in order to defend her daughter’s life.

I discovered this month that Soap Opera Digest has a short weekly podcast show. The first 2 did not focus as much on Y&R as GH or Days but this past week the podcast featured an in interview with the head writer/producer. He discusses Thursday and Friday’s episodes. I did not like making J.T. an abuser but being presented with numerous news stories about famous people being accused of terrible crimes makes me realize “truth is stranger than fiction” Many of these famous people were well respected by individuals who were never in a position to see a dark side… Read more »
