Kyle and Lola's wedding: Thumbs up or thumbs down?

I say no. I mean it was a good wedding & don’t have many complaints but I was hoping for something new/different from the typical white dress wedding. I would’ve like to have seen some Cuban flare (food, music, clothing). I was also disappointed Dina wasn’t at her grandson’s wedding. Victoria’s dress…yuck. Rey’s grey tie…boring. And I didn’t like Lola’s dad. Likes: bouquet toss, the bubbles, the vows when they exchanged rings, Phyllis & Summer well behaved, Tessa’s dress. Since Kola actually did get married I feel like Lola just gave away her virginity when she said for so many… Read more »
I already gave my opinion somewhere in the comments. I loved it and I’m satisfied. 🙂 It’s all I excpected from Y & R 🙂
I liked the wedding Well done Y&R!
I voted thumbs up. They give me young Caine and Lily vibes. I do think Y&R is trying to make them a super couple. I’m here for it , if it’s done the right way.
Oh, I agree, it was a soap wedding with all the trimmings. Everyone looked so nice. The bride smiled and genuinely looked, well, like a bride. There was family togetherness, and some drama, not too much. The setting was perfect, and then…..the bubbles! I loved that! Magical!
I voted thumbs down mainly because I’m not a Kyle/Lola fan. Like Heather said in her comment, they barely dated and haven’t really gone through any real “adult” issues. They’ve had “high school” couple drama when they first hooked up, but besides the whole Lola almost dying and Kyle doing the “noble” thing and marrying Summer for Lola, that’s about it. Just because they have been blissful for maybe a couple of months doesn’t equate to a long term commitment this soon. The fact that Kyle didn’t trust Lola with all of his past good or bad just solidifies that… Read more »
I voted thumbs up. I thought Lola’s gown was youthful and romantic – it suited her character. And the set was beautiful (except for that weird pink lighting behind the minister – it looked like a baby gender reveal party).
Not in favor of bringing Hilary back in any role! That’s so over the top! Bugs me when a character leaves and then it appears that the writers, etc., realize through fan disapproval that the character (s) added so much to the show and they have to get very creative and do a “re-do”….case in point, Cassy comes back and is now Mariah!!!!!!!!
I am with you on not wanting Hilary back. Sorry for my feelings on that Ali. I feel I have seen enough of Hilary. I don’t miss the character.
Yeah, I wasn’t a Hilary fan either. She wasn’t bad after she apologized about trying to the destroy the Winters family initially before she got with Neil and started sleeping with Devon. She was actually relatable back then. Then after she got kidnapped by Neil, she got a drastic personality change that wasn’t as relatable so I wasn’t sad to see the character go. I like the actress though and wouldn’t mind if she was a twin or just a different character unrelated to Hilary. Devon and Elena are super boring so they need a good shake-up.
Thumbs up on a beautiful wedding. They even had me feeling some sympathy for Summer when the camera cut to her and her mom told her it was almost over.
Huge thumbs up from me! I loved it! Romance is the only reason why I watch soaps and this couple drew me back into watching Y&R. Michael and Sasha have so much chemistry. I could really feel the love that Kyle and Lola have for each other. That whole wedding warmed my heart!
Thumbs up for everything but that hideous wedding dress! Lola is so beautiful with a great body, why didn’t they do a better job on the dress ?!?!
But I thought it looked like a dress that the character Lola would have chosen. Modest, heavy, not slinky or shiny.
Thumbs down. These two only met last year, barely even dated throughout that time (she was either mad at him over an expensive purse or in a coma), never had any exciting adventures, mysteries, or obstacles overcome (the pursegate was all about Lola complaining, and when she was in a coma and Kyle married and slept with someone else for no reason – Summer never asked him to – everyone acted like it was no big deal!). Kyle and Lola needed at least another year or two to actually build their relationship and overcome drama to be rootable (see: Mariah… Read more »
Oh, thumbs up!
No. I just am not a fan of this couple. I think Summer and Kyle were more interesting “TV couple.” Kyle and Lola are the ride off into the sunset couple when both actors leave the show or the show leaves the airwaves. I hear and read podcast/blogs where some viewers wished Y&R kept Arturo and Mia over Rey or Lola. I get that especially with Celeste in the picture. I think the scenes with Mia and Arturo with mother in law Celeste taking Mia to task would be better soap. Kyle and Lola would make a good movie with… Read more »
I voted thumbs up! Now I will be the first one to admit that I’m not all that interested in the love story stuff that happens in soaps but I found myself really into this wedding. In recent years, Y&R has moved away from the “super couples” format where many of the relationships that we see on the show are not true super couples and are more just short-stint relationships. I think maybe Devon and Hilary were the last one we had. We have Victor and Nikki AND Billy and Victoria but other than that, we don’t really have another… Read more »
