The new one captures her spirit better. She looks a little washed out in the old one.

I voted OLD portrait. As you said, the new one looks like an Olan Mills pose for a family member. The OLD one looks like a portrait, it looks like a professional pose, Victoria looks down into the office, and it looked very much like the Victor pose and sneer/smile. I never liked the Victorian floral shirt, though. I prefer a sweater, maybe black.

I just keep imagining superimposing your face onto that portrait

I voted for the old portrait. The new one is more flattering for sure. The original captures Victoria the way I think of her. She almost always has her guard up yet seems delicate and vulnerable somehow. So the direct gaze and flowery print helps tell that story.
I like this comment. I kind of like the old one as well. They both look like painted from Sears Portrait Photography as Ali suggests. The printed top adds interest but Victor’s new portrait of Victoria is more classic with her face illuminated. Victoria wears purple with a brown background on my TV which is unusual. Either one will do. I would take them both as companion pieces if not on opposite walls then in opposite rooms.
I voted for the new one because this is the Victoria I would like to see show up occasionally. The old portrait, as Naomi says, captures her coldness. What I’d really like to see is Victor’s portrait in the lobby. It would be great to see the Newman Enterprises lobby. Victor’s portrait could be the first thing visitors see as they enter the building.

If the purpose is to stare into your soul and strike fear (like the old Victor portrait). I think the old hit the nail on the head. The first time I saw it, it made me uncomfortable :). The new is beautiful though, with a welcoming smile.

A business portrait should not have a flowered dress, IMO. I always thought it was too informal.
