A temporary recast would be fine. YR will be lucky to ever get Sasha back, but keep the door open. I like the crew of young women she is part of—Elena, Mariah, Tessa, Abby—all the same age. I prefer not to lose yet another Latina character.
I totally agree. A temporary recast or have her off the canvas for a while. When she is finished with her amazing superhero opportunity, see if she is willing to come back. It’s possible she could be in a few video chats to stay connected while filming.
I vote “no.” Lola was a great character to sidetrack Kyle and Summer’s relationship, but since then has had no story, nor framework for a new one. The sounding board her character provides can easily be done by others, and we don’t need to know the replacement chef for Society to continue being an integral setting.
If Rey becomes collateral damage via Crazy Chelsea in her vendetta with Sharon, it would be great to see an edgy Lola return to avenge her brother. Heck maybe Arturo and Mia could return as well. I’m sure TPTB won’t go there, but one can wish. The remaining Rosales bunch could really spice up the scene down the road, and Celeste could finally snatch up Jack and be the Lady of Abbott Manor.
Lola brings a comfort zone to her interactions. I don’t feel a replacement character could bring that into her storyline. Hate to see Lola go.
As is usually the case, the character of Lola IS Sasha. This is the perfect time to not re-cast as Lola has absolutely nothing going on at present outside of the great support system she provides for her at loose ends room mate. Will Elena have to move out or take over the lease herself? Elena looses a great ‘girl’s night out’ instigator which she needs. Lola is a loss to both the show and me personally, but all that morning, noon & night (take-out) Cuban food can supply – heartburn. Lola can always be re-cast at some other time.… Read more »
Why not? But MAKE HER INTERESTING! Make her a bitch. The current one just wet noodles around and has been wet noodling long before Sasha was cast in the movie. She can come back from Miami a new woman! Hell on wheels!
I say don’t bother. Lola hasn’t been doing much lately and it’s probably because she is leaving . Maybe she will come back after her movie is filmed unless she becomes a big movie star. Great opportunity for the actress who plays her.
