Emphatic no, not a good ending. Stitch wasn’t even in the show much. Not much lurking or standing outside Mariah’s room, bobbing his head=good job Ben. He wasn’t on the show, then he was, then he was the bad guy. We had no build-up to his character being involved in any way. No letters to Abby over the previous months. Blah. I wanted Tessa to be the kidnapper. She would have done it to get Mariah away from the mansion, but clueless that the isolation would be traumatic. ANYBODY would have been interesting. But Stitch?

I voted yes even though I was completely wrong about it not being Nina in the quiet room. I would like to explain why, as there are several reasons. I don’t know if I am the only one, but I must admit I somewhat enjoyed the mystery of not knowing who the mystery person that kidnapped Mariah was. I liked the whodunnit aspect of the story, albeit there was a lot of flaws with how it was done. As you mentioned Ali, having Stitch be the culprit was a good tie in to the history of his character and his… Read more »

I voted NO!! But, technically, I don’t think this could be called an ending. The only thing that ended at this point is the pregnancy. They didn’t catch Stitch, he is on the run, with his son. No resolution there. Mariah is angry and has formed an unexpected bond with “Bowie”. The Baby Mama Drama, is about to begin.

NO! Didn’t like the end at all. It seemed like the clichéd plot of “Just in the nick of time, the stalker/abductor turns out to be the trusted ex (or neighbor, or nanny, or .. etc. etc.) no one suspected!” Couldn’t care less why/how it transpired at this point. Maybe I’d be more vested in Stitch’s issues if he gradually had become more ingrained into GC, rather than having plunked his sincere self right into Abby’s posse (and snowed Victor as well, because, as the Mustache opined, “They used to be sparring partners, you know!”…Lol Victor, it’s always about you).… Read more »

As to whether it was good or bad we got what we got so I accept it at that level. It was rather odd. Kidnapping a pregnant woman and holding her captive in a locked room in a bid to get closer to a former wife needs to be better explained. Mentally incapacitated or not I could have talked to Stitch and made him see there might be a more straightforward better way to accomplish his goal. Frankly, I am a little shell-shocked by the grand finale. Looking for more texture in the week ahead. Y&R may be done with… Read more »
I really didn’t grab onto the part as to why Devon held on to the community baby. Lol. Maybe that will be the only time he will. But, Mariah I bet is going to have a real hard time letting loose of the birth mommy strings.
One thing I’m surprised at myself over is my new appreciation of the Devon character. He is doing fantastic in bringing the character into true adulthood.

I agree. There could have been a much better ending. And to have explored the mind of Stitch while all of this was going on would have put a great angle to the story especially the ending. Big flop for YnR.

I voted no. This could have ended in so many different ways. The writers showed no imagination at all. That said, the acting was phenomenal!

I voted no. I probably don’t deserve to vote because after reading everyone’s comments, I didn’t bother to watch Thursday and Friday’s shows. What a disappointment. Glad this part of the storyline is over. It accomplished nothing, except character bashing for Stitch.
I know…poor Stitch. Since I did not watch him unfold on Thursday and Friday, I can pretend he is still an upstanding doctor. He was dealt a rough hand by Max’s tumor causing him to plot against Abby and ultimately losing his baby and his marriage to her. So I have empathy for Stitch.
Upon reflection, as a cover Stitch announcing he had been appointed chief of staff at Genoa City Memorial was crazy town. This is a fib unable to hold up 5 minutes after it came out of his mouth. ‘Why would he say such a thing?’ I asked myself. Now we know it is because he had lost all logic and reason and actually nicely plays into what we have now learned about him.
I ended up voting YES this was a good ending as a sympathy vote figuring the poll could use me.

I voted yeah, not because I think the story was great but because the acting was so phenomenal from Sean Carrigan, Camryn Grimes, and Melissa Ordway on Friday. The whole fiasco was a missed opportunity to showcase the full spectrum of how mentally ill Stitch had become, the events over the last 4 years that got him there and his genuine torment and guilt for what he had done knowing he was in too deep to correct the situation. It could have been so good!

Absolutely not! Not to toot my own horn but I think my idea of Stitch switching the sperm sample making him the donor was a better conclusion and made more sense than what these writers chose to portray. When some nobody from the hinterland can come up with a better plot than what a group of highly paid professionals were able to that ought to tell you something is awry here.
Dr. S switching the sperm samples is excellent! Devon as the donor is unexciting as he really isn’t very well connected to Abby. With Stitch the biological father and Abby’s ex (basically over their inability to become parents) this would set the stage for Stitch to try and horn right in to set the wrong! In his own mind, with Abby saying, “No..No..” THAT would be compelling.
Yes to both Zplex and Gary’s ideas. Stitch switching the donor seed would have given he and Abby the baby they always wanted. Chance would eventually be reported as “assumed dead”, not really dead, and Abby could have been comforted by Stitch and maybe even forgiven the creepy sperm swap!

Kidnapper or not, be proud to be a Stitch supporter

It’s not that complicated. Why didn’t Y&R think up this perfect story?
That would have been a clever idea!
