Its a D from me! The daily & weekend cliffhangers are blah now. No hook to keep you interested. The stories are so slow now & some of it is been there seen that. I didn’t see the whole thing when Delia died but I thought Billy was on the right track now with his gambling & at Jabot. Why did they have to mess that up so soon? I must say Billy is still looking as hot as ever though! I’m hating the recent cuts: Ana, Celeste, Mia, the twins, Jett, Lilly. Where is Cane? Dina is all but… Read more »

I gave the current writers a D. The show isn’t so bad that it has become unwatchable, however, it is quite jarring to jump from the fast pace show that Mal Young kept, almost each episode a new day and the stories were developed and concluded at a much faster rate. Now, I feel like Billy has been wearing the same outfit for a whole week! Like Ali said, I don’t think it’s good writing when your main technique is to recycle old storylines. It can become boring, no matter how compelling it would be in real life, such as… Read more »

I agree with you Ali about the writers bringing up some old storylines again that people don’t want to see and not creating their own new and evolved storylines. I also don’t like that the writers start stories and don’t follow through: 1. The Tracey and Cane romance, 2. Victoria and the guy from the band 3. Mariah’s stalker story. That being said; I like that Josh Griffith has brought back many characters old and new. 1. J.T being brought back and redeemed 2. Adam’s return, which fans have been wanting 3. Kevin and Chloe 4. Chelsea, Conner and her… Read more »

What the writers did with Tracy and Cane was a travesty. But last week, they had had a lovely scene where Devon gave Elena a first edition, autographed copy of the novel Sula. The author of Sula, Toni Morrison, died a few days after the episode aired. It was like an unplanned tribute. What bizarre timing!

Hi Ali! This is my first time commenting. I felt the need to pop onto the website and express my frustration with Y&R right now. I have never felt more disconnected from the show than I do at this moment. It feels like not a single character is acting within character, I don’t “ship” any couple (except Tracy and Cane – RIP) and the fact that either nothing happens on a daily basis or they retread old storylines is exhausting. I fast forward through more episodes than I watch. Your podcast is what is keeping me going during this dark… Read more »

I gave them a B. B is for Better than before.
I think this team needs 6-8 months to fix the show from what Mal did to it.

I gave the show a D. I’m gonna start with the positives. I like seeing Tracey more even though I didn’t care for her getting with Cane. I like seeing Ashley come back and her and Jack getting along. I like Victor and Jack getting along. I am also glad to see Michelle Stafford back as Phyllis and Chelsea back. I like seeing Paul more as well, not so much Christine. There are other storylines that I don’t mind, but I have a lot of gripes. Now for my major gripes with the show. I can’t get down with this… Read more »

Apparently I am in the minority ,but I give the writing an A+. When Mal Young was the head writer ,the show was overly plot driven to The point where the so at times was Incoherent. Some storylines did not have an conclusive or feasible end. Mal Young also got rid of Paul Williams which is totally inexcusable. With Josh Griffith ,the show is more realistic. I like how each episode normally progresses into the next instead of each episode ending on a huge plot twist. To be honest ,the show could not be any worse than Mal Young.

I cast my vote on how the current Y&R writers are doing thus far and I simply give them a D. Don’t get me wrong – I am so loving this cast. Although, don’t blink or you will miss one (here today/gone tomorrow). There is so much potential for having great story lines, especially for these great cast members – just as long as the stories are fast & furious. Not slow and drawn out or having the reappearance of the dreadful past. The Summer is slowly coming to an end .. at this point we should have been holding… Read more »

Yeah it was so much more exciting, comparing tho the current.
I gotta say at the beginning with the new writing team on board it was promising pretty good though .
Let’s see what the future brings ^^

I agree! His fails for me was the overdose of the Rosales family at the expense of the vets, the Dina Alzheimer story, Ashley patent and Jack fued. His writing for Kyle was A+ and now it is F-. His writing for Summer since she came back was great and exciting, and I used to dislike her just enough to want her gone with mostly indifference. I liked the fast pace, with the exception of JT. Thing that would have taken months were days.

Hi voted C for blah. With the non-interesting and slow storylines, I am worried for the future of the show. We all complained about the writers that went way too fast, but we kind of got used to that. And expected something to be happening. The only story that was unfortunate was the loss of Deena as a matriarch character. Curable diseases are the best ones. Or – it is a soap opera after all – and they can certainly write in a cure for her. I would accept that. Or a twin? Yeah. That’s not really Deena. It is… Read more »
