First time chatter! Okay, you asked for it: I just couldn’t get into Theo. I won’t miss him. However, I do think that the character will be back one day, hopefully with more going on in his life than, you know, hanging out in restaurants!

I voted no. Because I feel sorry for the guy and for the character. They could do so much with him. Sometimes he was playing on my nerves but maybe thats what was making him thick and a good role/character
.Not to mention I really didn;t like how “they ” treated him in the whole Dina’s farewell . It’s like “they” were suggesting something back then…So yeah i felt sorry for the character not being included in all this Abbott drama , treated like an outsider in a way…

I so disagree with this move on the part of Y & R Producers. Tyler Johnson has done a wonderful job of engaging his audience. Of all the characters to come to Genoa City, he would not be number one on my list to cut. In fact , Theo should be at legacy character. Depth, interest, and a connection to the Abbotts added much needed energy to this family. There’s so much potential for this character. Tyler Johnson has been a pleasure to watch. I hope this is not the last we see of Theo.

Theo is one of the most interesting characters on the show right now. Very surprised and extremely disappointed! I would much rather see Nate gone than Theo as I find his character rather boring and lame, as I mentioned before. Theo is unpredictable and fun, best described as a wildcard, while Nate is as exciting as a wet sponge. To me this should have been a no brainer. If anyone should be cut from the budget it should be ho -hum Nate.

I am LIVID! Theo and Adam are the 2 reasons I tune into Y&R! Ugh. I wonder if they are just going through massive budget cuts this year due to the pandemic? Maybe they can bring him back next year? Ugh. And, did Nate “leave” today or was that just an emotion-riddled statement? What’s happening to all the good characters? As much as I love him, I could see Nick taking a break for a while. Or Jordan – totally unnecessary.

Disappointed. Bummed out. Confused. Annoyed. These are my feelings. I always looked forward to seeing Theo on my screen—so of course YR let him go. I don’t get it. Unique character, special actor: such a DUMB decision. In the meantime YR has other very good actors that COULD come across as very appealing and charming—Kyle, Nick, Rey, Billy for example. Lately they are all mostly just puffed up, self righteous anti-Theo or anti-Adam machines. What a waste of talented actors who are capable of so much more. YR has a writing problem. SUPER SAD TO SEE THEO GO. And what… Read more »
I haven’t had to voice my opinion because everything I’m feeling you guys are saying. I too am a little angry. Blind sighted by Theo’s sudden departure.

I’m going to miss Tyler Johnson as Theo, this casting choice is beyond a bummer. If TPTB are intent on taking Theo from us, I wish they would give us Daniel, but only if Michael Graziadei portrays him. In a perfect world we would get to keep Theo and gain Daniel.

I am thoroughly disappointed that Theo is leaving. I love the character and the actor. You are right Ali, why give him family ties through Dina and develop his character only to cut him. Theo has a lot more potential than Kyle does right now who just flip flops between 2 women, now possibly 3 with Sally. Unless they plan on bringing the character back later on, I have a feeling Theo will go the way of other forgotten long lost family members and never be mentioned like Jack’s son Keemo.

It is horrible, and just really sad. I don’t understand what has happened to the show with the last two writing regimes, but this one makes me long for Mal even though he disgusts me for ruining the potential of Dina, but this regime is worse. The current seem like they hear some complaints so change course thinking fans will be happy, but somehow aren’t able to see the root of the complaints. Their plots are really just stunts thinking they will lure voters in, but that has never been what it has been about. How can fans buy in… Read more »
You said it Lesley. I couldn’t agree more. Now with Theo leaving it looks like his billionaire grandmother gave him a cheap pen as his inheritance. If he were staying on it could be like Zoperxplex suggested, a pen belonging to Earnest Hemingway or something valuable like that. I like Courtney Hope, but why should I invest in Sally Spectra for fear she will be gone this time next year. All the points you brought up are valid and I agree with all of them.

I think this is the worst decision ever! Theo is the most exciting character that has come on the Y&R scene in a long time! I remember years ago General Hospital let go of the actress who played Elizabeth, but the fans made such a ruckus they brought her back. Let’s try to do the same with Theo! CBS says the best way to contact them is through their Facebook or Twitter page. It probably won’t make a difference, but it is worth a shot!
I think it’s very wrong to let Theo go. There aren’t many men his age only Kyle. Theo is a breath of fresh air, Kyle is a crybaby, whiner. Better to keep Theo!

I voted No. I have already expressed the reasons why on last week’s chat.

Excellent summary & critique of what the show has been of late! If only they would listen to you and fix these mistakes where possible.
