I voted she’s having a baby. If written well, the storyline could be rich to mine. Maria could go through all kinds of conflicted feelings and share those with the viewer. We could be left wondering will she or won’t she give up the baby. We could also go through this with Devon. He’s already slipped and said he was the father. Y & R could even go into very soapy waters by having Tessa be very jealous and have Mariah break up with her. Tessa would then kidnap the baby to get Mariah back. I tend to think she will just because I never thought she wouldn’t but it is impossible to tell.
That baby shower from yesterday didn’t do this “it takes a village” any good. Where are the bombs and fires to upstage such unwelcome events as this? Stinko. Now some really are going to start hating Abby.
I don’t think ANBODY wants this baby. Not even Chance – honestly this storyline’s worst attribute is that it has three of the most boring characters involved (yes in order of most boring to least boring)- Abby, Devan and (yes sometimes and especially with these two and Tessa thrown in) Mariah.
I hope she miscarries and the story will end,i know this story isn’t sitting well with a lot of people,the backlash was too much and the show deleted the tweet
I’m seeing reports that Justin Gaston is coming back as Chance. I’m not sure if CBS/YR has confirmed this or if the rumor mill is on overdrive. Our friend “DB” surely won’t be pleased if it’s true since he was told there wouldn’t be a recast. It seems likely that the baby will survive either way since they made Devon the sperm donor— the baby is a Newman-Abbott-Chancellor. That’s a legacy baby.
Ellen, I have heard that too. That the character of Chance is returning. But I don’t think Mariah will carry to term. That story was told already with Mac and Lily’s Surrogacy Storyline. I believe Mariah will miscarry, by falling down the stairs and it will be Tessa’s fault. Then the writers can finally justify breaking them up. Which I would be okay with. Don’t get me wrong. I feel Justin will return on the eve of the birth to find Devon very much the proud, expectant father…
Mariah will miscarry. This story was effectively torpedoed the moment C.B.S. brass fired Donny Boaz from the show.
I don’t feel like they’d go through this storyline just for her to miscarry.
