I’m right in the middle of Victoria telling the girls about JT’s abusive behaviour.
I disagree with the way they presented the physical abuse as more shocking and disturbing than the mental abuse.
I wish that the writers could have somehow stressed that ongoing mental abuse is devastating and can be for years. Bruises heal faster than being told you are a bad mother. Emotional abuse keeps you trapped from within. Emotional abusers target your soul

YR has been better than ever lately. The abuse storyline was hard to watch and even harder having the abuser be JT. How very sad for the character of JT. But Friday’s episode was worth it. I watched it with such intensity, I barely reacted. Then I watched it again and was brought to tears listening to Victoria recant her perception of her relationship with JT. I want to add one other thing about the party that was had at Vicki’s it was so nice to see these women put aside the pettiness and really be there for Victoria and this should show her that there are women that really care about her and they should be bonded for life and not because of what happened because they showed that there is understanding when it comes to how some relationships can be or seem to be good but you never know what is really going on until it is said and I am glad that Victoria… Read more »
The episode with Victoria and Jt had me screaming at the Tv get a lamp and lay him out but then it was her mother that came to the rescue and I was so proud in that moment but the writers made only ONE mistake they did not say anything about if your in an abusive relationship whether it be a woman or a man get help and that is what I was expecting at the end of Friday’s storyline and nothing said…..It was confusing that Cane didn’t get the whole story before he sent JT to salvage the relationship… Read more »
This week was incredible!!! I can’t get over how great the show is right now. The acting, the writing, the directing… everything is amazing. This storyline has been hard to watch, but this pay off was well worth it. I have to give kudos to Y&R for telling this important story in a thoughtful way and taking a risk by having JT be the abuser. This storyline really could have fallen apart, but it didn’t. In fact, Friday’s episode reminded me why I love this show so much.

Wow the fellow who plays Kyle is such a skilled actor he makes me angry when he’s on camera! It will be exciting to see how this story develops

Who knew Mariah was so good at making margarhitas. It was cute and funny to see Mariah passed out at the party. I like when Y&R gives us some humor. The girls night was great and a nice change as we never see that. It was very refreshing to see the characters open up, especially Mariah confessing to kissing a girl and Nikki letting out about her Victor’s open marriage! I noticed Sharon never came clean about her feelings for NIck. I think Sharon may have confessed if Phyllis wasn’t there.

I wonder way Sharon was so aggregated while describing Victoria’s situation… What do you think she was referring too? I don’t think she was ever in an abusive relationship … Unless she reflecting on her past, being assaulted..
I really like how we are seeing the characters at each other’s homes. I enjoyed seeing NIck over at Phyllis’s place, as awkward as it was with Billy there. I also liked seeing NIck at his sister’s home, just tossing their jackets onto the chair and kicking up their feet on the couch and relaxing. It makes the show much more realistic and relatable. I noticed the camera angles Y&R is using at the characters homes give the illusion their places look even larger than we are used to seeing.
I was so elated when Victoria left J.T in Hawaii and finally freed herself of him. When J.T told Victoria no matter how much she begged him he would never take her back she should have said “Is that a promise?”. He would drag your spirit down with all of his negativity on top of his abuse. She must feel like a huge weight has been lifted off her shoulders. She’s finally free.
Phyllis is literally the best lol when Victoria was telling all of them about her relationship with JT and then Phyllis had some snappy comeback I had to laugh out loud. I love Phyllis’ fire and passion and her hot headedness.
