I usually dread wedding, christening, or funeral weeks because it’s just a lot of sentimental dialogue and not much plot. Call it a sign of the times or call it good writing, but I really enjoyed Chance and Abby’s wedding week. There were sweet moments, funny moments, and real moments. Like when each guest read their piece of advice before putting it in the box. That felt true to life, and each tidbit was so well tailored to the writer. And the flashbacks really added to the sense of Genoa City’s families being united by what feels like a pivotal… Read more »

I loved all the flashbacks last week and the girls’ reunion in the lobby of the Grand Phoenix. But Lauren, if you’re not going to eat the fruit, put down the fruit! What at first looked exceptionally natural became weird and SO distracting.

72 Hours: Adam’s beatings and intense psychotherapy over Thanksgiving at the mental hospital has done him a world of good as he appears to have completely snapped back to his highest self. What a difference a day (I mean 72) makes!

I was uncomfortable with those psych ward scenes.

Genealogy is not a consideration and Theo needs to be happy with his fountain pen. Dina’s will are her bequests – this is what she wanted done with her property and to be respected. True, had Dina been cognizant at the time her grandson entered her life she may have wanted to include him, but she wasn’t and those are the breaks. Contesting the will in demanding her entire estate go to him has angered the Abbotts and so they wish him to get nothing.
As a lawyer, Ellen…

Whatever the charms of the actress, Sally Spectra, at this point, is but a tiresome stock ambitious troublemaker character. Minimize air time until people are feeling her.

Theo’s will grab is crazy. I was confused when the Abbott lawyer spoke as I thought the family unanimously decided to give him nothing, but then Theo was offered Dina’s boutique in Paris which would leave him financially secure for life without him having to do a thing! “It’s a start”, says Theo. Take it and run! The Abbotts have been gracious to Theo as a discovered family family member with Jack going completely overboard and over the moon with the arrival of him! Dopey Kyle doesn’t count. Their animosity supersedes the discovery of the family connection so what is… Read more »

They could mention that Theo will now pursue his other family half, the Fosters. (off screen, of course)

Refresh me. I don’t even know. Theo is connected to Stuart Brooks somehow. How is he also hooked up to the Fosters, by Stuart’s late in life marriage to Liz Foster?

Stuart is his grandfather. Dina was getting it on with Stuart as well and between them sired the father of Theo before she met John. Dina then put her son up for adoption by a couple of Dutch descent.

All too much for me. I like Theo but he doesn’t get a dime.

You are right – the Brooks, not the Fosters. You know what I mean, though.

Toni, Theo would be able to get a lot more out of the Brookes than he would the Fosters. You can’t draw milk from a turnip.

Just an observation. My chatter icon is a crossword grid of Y&R words. When I created it, I included 35 names. 13 of those are no longer on the show. Of the remaining 22, a few are rarely in a story. I can redo and add a few

I am very happy to see Britney Hodges back. She is great. I am glad Theo chose her as his lawyer. I feel Theo is definitely doing the right thing by suing the Abbott’s for more than just a pen! If he didn’t sue them, he never would have been offered a company in France. Although Theo is not interested, it shows that he wasn’t wasting his time. The Abbott’s are sure making him feel guilty for it. He may be going overboard with is request for the family fortune, but it is only because he feels hurt. I don’t… Read more »

I appreciate the sensitivities of Theo, but apparently I am the only one who thinks everything Jack said to Theo in their private talk is correct. The entitled Abbotts being rich and Theo being in need is not the point. Theo says the Abbotts treated him like dirt, but Jack says they welcomed him – especially him! Spoiled Kyle has his own issues and is excluded from the idea that the Abbotts concidered their cousin dirt under their feet. Line of the week: Traci is offering straight talk on the situation. Theo: And you’re supposed to be the nice one.… Read more »

Jack started off treating Theo like family but quickly seemed to turn on Theo after his son and ex- daughter in law dishonestly set Theo up. Not that this excuses what Theo did, but Kyle and Summer should have been penalized too. Their integrity was poor. Integrity means doing the right thing even no one is looking. Kyle and Summer were very sneaky. I usually like Tracy but I feel like Tracey Bregman should be more sympathetic towards Theo, Tracey knows how it is feels to be treated differently than your siblings. She knows how much it can hurt your… Read more »

That was the dumbest in the world – Jack pitting rivals, Kyle & Theo further apart by creating a Jabot contest for them to compete in where one would loose. Writers may have thought we would be too dense to catch the bad logic of it!

Tuesday’s episode was a reminder of the big mistake Y&R made by letting Theo going, and bringing Sally onboard. I really liked Sally on B&B, but she’s just not doing it for me here. She’s like a mash-up of Summer and Chelsea – meh. The guy who plays Theo is a great actor and his character is the perfect shade of gray.

Tricia Cast is a great actress. Watching classic clips of her is a reminder of that. Nina brought up the rivalry between her and Victoria t Abby and Chance’s wedding that most of us would have likely forgot about. Nina tells off Ryan after she finds out he is married to Victoria.

I want to say Youtube is the best. Where else can you view classic episodes of Y&R unless there is a pandemic and the show has to air them? When NIna, Christine and Lauren were hanging out together at the Grand Phoenix hotel, Nina mentioned to Lauren that Lauren was late for Nina and Philips’s wedding reception. Lauren joked and thought it was funny that NIna remembered such a thing on her wedding day. Here is the clip of this episode where Lauren apologizes for being late.

Dishing with Digest podcast has an interview up with Melissa and Justin all about Justin stepping into the role of Chance. I may not have made it to the end, but about 25 minutes in there was not one mention of poor Donny Boaz missing out on being part of YR history—the 12,000th episode. I understand they were excited to act together, but couldn’t help imagining Donny listening to them go on and on and never even mentioning his name! Not a good look. Maybe it came up at the end, but it should have been the first topic: “I… Read more »
