How long til after showing Tucker the stairs Ash shows him the door? The stairs go up & down and the door opens and closes!

I think Tucker moving in to the Abbott mansion is hilarious. he is going to milk this for all it’s worth. He will be insufferable!

I agree, it’s a shame Ally moved into Noah’s, watching her reactions to Tuckers off the cuff remarks would’ve been enjoyable. I’m feeling a Full House vibe.

Did any chatters hear about Eric Braeden’s bladder cancer diagnosis? Is is treatable so hopefully he will be fine. He is Victor Newman so he has to be o.k. He is a wonderful actor.

Thank you for posting that link, DIANNA. Eric really gave us detailed information regarding his illness. May we all pray for his continued improvement. He is the best! I did not know about the diagnosis until reading your post.

I noticed y&R has Billy talking to Jack about the fact that Jack once had romantic feelings for Phyllis and that he needs to mourn her before moving forward. If anyone is new to the show they would never know that Billy also was in a very serious relationship with Phyllis at one time. It is obvious that Y&R doesn’t want to acknowledge to Billy once loved Phyllis as well, as it is never mentioned once by Billy or Jack. I am not really sure why it isn’t acknowledged? I realize the actress that portrayed Phyllis was Gina Tognoni when… Read more »

You have brought up a great point! Billy and Phyllis (GT version had a softer side) tried and succeeded to a certain degree to let each be themselves. I liked them together because Phyllis said she would take him as is, no “work” to be done, no changes to be made. Billy loved the risks of opening up to a woman like Phyllis. He bought JaBoat at that time I think.

It would make sense for Billy to acknowledge he’d had a relationship w/Phyllis. However, I never did feel theirs was a significant one. Even though they lived together, I feel like it was short-lived, not all that substantial, and definitely soured (ya think?) when Billy slept w/Summer (oops). I also think? Phyllis and Billy got together after one of them cheated on whomever he or she was w/at the time. While I don’t find it disrespectful that he hasn’t, it definitely would be respectful – at the very least – for Billy to acknowledge his past involvement w/Phyllis. But I… Read more »

I think DIANNA nailed it. The reason Billy’s relationship with Phyllis has not been acknowledged. It was a different actress in the role. So, no true connection and with JG at the helm of the writing. If it didn’t actually happen on screen it probably will not be dealt with.

Phyllis sure took a big risk showing her face at Chancellor Park without any sort of disguise. She is extremely lucky nobody saw her when she went to meet with Summer. Phyllis sure is hypocritical talking about Diane faking her death for years. So what? Phyllis still put her children and other loved ones through a lot of emotional pain even thought it was a short period. Phyllis loves to rationalize her actions.

Elena’s choice of words were definitely interesting and spot on when she said “It should be pretty hot”. I am sure that was said by Elena to foreshadow what will be in store in L.A on Victoria and Nate’s “business trip”.

I hope Elena is as spot on as you say and she knows the score with this business trip. Elena is fast becoming one of my favorite characters. I would love for her to have a plan that will shock Nate. He thinks she’s waiting at his big penthouse curled up with a medical journal. Curl up in LA with a hunky intern Elena – move on but put the hurt on Big Nate on your way out! He is a player.

It’s a given that in real life every person believes his ir her p.o.v. IS the right one. Makes sense to me that fictional characters would be written to think the same! (Substitute any GC resident name for ‘fictional character.’)

Michelle Stafford is brilliant in her portrayal of Phyllis. Miss Stafford has perfectly conveyed the chaotic madness Phyllis is swirling in, as well as the pain she is not only feeling herself, but knows she is causing the ones she loves, with every move she makes. Weather My Girl is bringing the good, the bad, the ugly, or everything in between, I love watching the drama that Phyllis creates.

I couldn’t resist looking ahead to Monday’s episode [CANADA]. Nate and Victoria “seal the deal” in LA. Tucker has a “bad hair day” early in the morning in the Abott Mansion 🙂 Elena, with talks with Audra, will sense Nate’s betrayal…..sights unseen.

I see Elena plotting now against Nate. I don’t believe she is going to confront him. I think she is about to play a game. Brytni Sarpy will be very good in that role if the writers go that way.

She’s great! I found the character so bland when she first came to GC, but that was simply the character at the time. Elena unleashed could be a force to be reckoned with…and all done w/signature Elena ‘civil decorum’…

Here, hopefully Tucker McCall won’t be boring us all with endless chatter about buying & selling Tucker Unlimited as foot loose & fancy free he has gone into early retirement and now is all set for play! Let the feet on the coffee table hijinks begin. Comedy, please. Just not too over the top or corny. Wait til Jack sees him.

Ashley: These are the stairs.
Tucker: So they go up? How about down?
These lines must be improvised. Tucker is such a weirdo—in a good way. Now it’s rubbing off on Ashley.

Ashley & Tucker can hold a big Abbott garden wedding and invite everyone in town while Jack & Diane quietly take vows at the jail house. Usually it is the women who can’t wait to marry the bad boy criminal men with a switcharoo here. It would be cutting edge for Y&R’s 50th.

Billy needs to grow a beard and wear some nerdy therapist glasses. He is trying to be the male equivalent to Sharon now, without the quickie MSW degree. He did run up to the coffeehouse rooftop to save Chelsea, and he has got some rough life experiences under his belt—so maybe he is finally growing up and paying it forward. Good for him. Screw up Billy Boy was getting old.

Billy is remarkably well rounded considering his gold digging overbearing mother Jill. Probably boarding school saved him from her influence but also deprived him of his father’s.

So does Daniel believe Summer or does he think it’s wishful thinking due to grief & stress? I’m confused.

The latter in my opinion Ellen. I wish that there was some way for Summer to prove to Daniel that Phyllis is alive. It disturbs me or I find it odd that Phyllis didn’t reveal herself to them both.

Phyllis only revealed herself to Summer because she saw how Summer went after Diane at her memorial service. She realized that Summer was now hating on Diane too.

ELLEN & HENRY – Summer was flittering around in a fog and if she decided she would tell Daniel his mother was alive because Phyllis herself doesn’t trust him to know she would have straightened up and properly delivered the message coherently from A to Z where he would have believed her. Summer told Daniel what she had learned in this atherial wish fulfillment way as if she were acting in A Mid Summer Night’s Dream. Of course he saw her as mad.

Daniel didn’t believe Summer. Why would he? She was really not convincing in her telling of a dead person being alive. She was too hysterical. If she would of being calmer about exactly how Phyllis told her the events occurred, Daniel would have believed her. I don’t think she really wanted him too.

Phyllis did give Summer details of how she killed Stark but Summer did not relay those to Daniel. Phyllis told Summer that she killed him with scissors, I think. Didn’t she? When the truth comes out on how Stark died, that would be a way that Daniel can start believing Summer.

I am loving the show today. Thank you Y&R for the flashbacks that help me remember why I love Jack and Phyllis together. Peter Bergman is a fantastic actor, my heart is breaking for Jack today. And oh my will I continue to tune in if/when he realizes Phyllis is alive!! I think he will throw a DESK through his office window!

The Phyllis character as currently written is like the movie devoted to The Joker. You know you are watching a sick and twisted character but you also have a fascination with the character. Then wonder why you spent several hours watching such madness. Phyllis is using her very own daughter as a confidant to unburden herself from her guilt. As another chatter (Gary?) pointed out it’s all about Phyllis all the time and she never does a selfless act that I can recall. she is a fascinating character on the show. Her unbelievably selfish personality is shocking even now after… Read more »

I don’t seek out other soap sources but I believe Y&R CHAT has the only complexity. It feeds on itself. I smile at us intelligent people giving our all, our life’s breath to this oh so fake medium that we have fun with but take very seriously. My own little world makes me happy. I have lived in fantasy my whole life but always with one foot planted in reality and I don’t think anyone who knows me would call me crazy – in totality. It is charming that someone as smart and well put together as a human being… Read more »

I’ve only discovered this Chat in the last couple of years. It’s been like ‘being home after stranded all alone on a distant YnR island.’ (Corny! but true.) Recently I listened to Ali’s very first podcast Chat; I knew then that Ali IS my YnR ‘spirit animal,’ lol. Diplomatic GC fans need to hightall it out of other forums that seem to consist mostly of posts spewing insults at all things show-related. C’mon on over here for the fun – YnR addicts, unite!
