Maybe, the new writer is moving some actors to the back burner to allow new actors to be hired like Christian, Conner, Lucy, and some other MIA kids.

While I’m happy Billy solved his little Hardy Boys mystery, it seems highly unlikely this long-lost document would hold up in court, not to mention the court of public opinion. The fact that John Abbott himself had no interest in enforcing the deal back in the day (what are we talking about, 1975?) should be enough to convince Billy (and the rest of the Abbotts) to let it lie. They’re contradicting their late father’s wishes. Period. They shouldn’t want to do that. In my history of watching Y&R, I have mostly missed Billy’s history of incompetence, compulsion, and failure, so… Read more »

I like the idea of this new arts school Devon will be opening in honour of his late father Neil. I think this is a good idea as it can open doors for many different storylines. One that already comes to mind, and that I think would be very intriguing, is if Stitch’s son, Max, enrolled at the school under a false name to keep his identity hidden. He would come onto the show as a young adult now, as he was a child when we last saw him. To refresh everyone’s memory, including my own, I did a little… Read more »

I would like to talk about the fashion this week. I really liked Claire’s outfit. I thought it was cute and sexy at the same time as well as unique and classy-looking. I loved the skirt, her shoes and the tie. It was all put together very nicelly. I also liked Victoria’s green dress. She has the figure for that outfit as she is very slim. I loved the colour and the green brought out the green in her eyes. It made them stand out. Nikki’s dress was stunning looking. So sparkly and shimmery when she entered the ranch. I… Read more »

Dianna, I love your fashion commentary. Nikki’s skirt on her sparkly outfit confounded me, so, I looked it up. When I did, I had to chuckle. It was called the car wash skirt. Now all those cut flaps make sense. Claire did look very nice too. But all those huge buttons were so distracting. I would have edited the bottom ones and only left the top four.

Okay Y&R, it’s past time to fish or cut bait. For heaven’s sake, cast Christian and bring back Connor or stop referring to them in these off screen family moments that we are disappointed to miss and certainly stop teasing us with a potential custody battle over a kid we haven’t seen in years.

Billy really needs to start carrying a pair of heavy-duty hiking boots to shove into his mouth before adding his feet. Though at this point, they wouldn’t even muffle him—he’d still find a way to blurt out his entire strategy through the laces!

Is there a vaccine for feet-in-mouth disease, or is Sally about to catch it just by standing near him?

The first thing I noticed on Friday’s show, Chelsea’s hair is a bit darker now. Adam met Chelsea for breakfast and told her about his off screen visit with non-corporal Christian. Christian, a well informed teen, asked his uncle daddy if his fentanyl addicted pop was going to die. Can you imagine how heart wrenching of a scene that would have been if they had cast the Christian character with a talented young actor? We need a really Christian sooner than later for this storyline and future ones. Everyone talked about him the entire episode. I might be dreading the… Read more »

Chatter gossip…Devon is still being mentioned on BTG, he is doing a music project with Anita and his photo was flashed on her phone to let us know that they’re currently working on a tribute album for her former singing partner. Also… John Oliver had his guest appearance on DOOL this week. Needless to say the storyline is over the top crazy and I love it. I hope Y&R can give him a funny bit or guest appearance to join the comedian bandwagon of silly soap opera fun.

I hope John Oliver gets on Y&R too. I remember when Katie Perry made an appearance once. I didn’t know who she was yet. I think that was just one episode though.

Men and woman together alone in a treatment centre. Especially two who literally used and –a-hem– together in a motel room less than 24 hours ago.

Not best practices from any program I’ve ever heard of… even if they don’t know each other’s names!

Marie…aka fentanyl floozie (good one-Russell) got my attention initially because she kept tugging at her already overexposed cleavage and was there as an obvious temptation for Nick. Now, I’m thinking she might be his redemption story and new girlfriend. I wonder how Sharon will react.

Nikki looked elegant and beautiful in her choice of travel wear. That sparkling black blouse, but the super big gold belt buckle was likely uncomfortable while being strapped in her plane seat, even if it was the Newman’s private jet. Did you notice during Nick’s share session that his leg started jumping and he steadied it with his hand. Those little details are part of what makes Josh Marrow’s performance so good. On today’s episode, this is the Sharon that I like. She’s upset about Nick, but to see her strong, making sense, speaking without that airy disconnect that she… Read more »

I like Marie too! She is just so cute and funny in a self conscious way. I love the way she is flirty but a little awkward with Nick since they got “acquainted” rather quickly.

I find it really hard to watch Nick suffering like this. His acting is fantastic and even his appearance has transformed. Since real fentanyl users rarely just get back to normal and are in a living hell, I guess it would be negligent to have Nick recover without showing what it is really like. It is hard to watch though, and makes me sad. If JM gets an Emmy I will be less sad.

Robin, I agree – it’s good storytelling and fantastic acting but so very hard to watch Nick disintegrate.

This slip of Nick’s is so gritty. From the run-down motel to Marie’s attitude that her life isn’t worth living with drugs. Even the drug-fueled sex was gritty. Sex was just another escape, a way to grasp at normalcy and connection. Kudos to set design. I could feel the threadbare cover and rough, stained sheets. Also, I imagined the floor was sticky and the smell of the room moldy with a hint of rose scent from an air freshener. Nick has fallen far, but has he hit rock-bottom?

Oh Victoria! Shut your dirty mouth! That description of the sheets and room, even the smell turned my stomach! Good job, and also Ick! [insert imaginary puke emoji because the site won’t let me]

Someone who writes for Y&R has seen the program worked to live life with addiction. All of which takes me back to my week-long scholarship to the Betty Ford Center in Palm Springs. My employer said I had a problem with Angry Birds, and my life was becoming unmanageable.

4,506 days clean, but it’s still one day at a time.

True story, time spent with the bravest people I have ever known.
