I was happy to see Chance this week, as we haven’t seen him in a while. I love his character and think the actor is very good. He is probably the most interesting when he is working as I find he shows a lot of emotion and passion when he is doing his detective work. I hope we see more scenes with Chance keeping the peace in Genoa City and I definitely want to see him off duty in romantic scenes with one of the characters, most likely Sharon.

Ali, I was surprised when you had said you weren’t really looking forward to seeing the return of Leanna Love on the show for the 50th Anniversary. I remember you had said you weren’t really a fan of hers, but then after watching the flashbacks during the pandemic you had said positive comments about the the actress and her character. I don’t remember the exact words you had used to describe her but I recall you had found her character to be funny and witty with her scenes with Rex Sterling. I look forward to seeing her again, as it… Read more »

I thought Leanna Love was dead. But can’t remember why I think that, lol. Another typical case of my forgetting stories long past. But I did/do like the actress very much.

Leanna Love. What a goof ball with that provocative pen name.To what purpose would this woman come back to town? Traci’s books are more substantial and less explosive. Ali is no fan. I am no fan.

Maybe she can re-vamp Victor for the 50th or sing to him streached across a piano. Ali, Oh, No!

I look forward to Ashley and Tucker’s relationship both professionally and personal. I love the two of them together and am very glad to see Ashley is back in town. It seems she wants to be involved with Tucker now that she has bought his debt. I find this story line very compelling and am excited to see where this goes. I am sure this business arrangement is going to bring them closer and help their relationship grow. It will be interesting to watch their journey, as I don’t really know what to expect!

Phyllis’ narcissism is difficult to stomach when it’s directed at Summer and Daniel. When directed not at her kids it’s just Phyllis being Phyllis

What an ego Nate has. He feel he is the reason Lily and Devon are fighting. Since leaving his humble profession of medicine, Nate has turned into someone who is very self-centered.

I think PAROLE would love to see that Happy Face/clown parcel jeremy Stark has sent to Diane Jenkins. Come pick him up now. Parole would have put a 100 mile restraining order from Jenkins on the criminal upon his release. A release the jewel thief or not would never have been given, given the fact that he was already on parole. The days of J&D trying to match wits with Stark are over. They need to let the law do their work for them now. A menace is a menace is a menace so get him off the streets today.… Read more »

Interested in the casting of a parole officer for Jeremy Stark who would hunt him down in the manner of Javert from Les Miserables.

I can’t believe after telling Jack how scared the happy faces made her, Diane just ripped it open the package in front of Chance. Chance had just told Diane and Jack to let the police handle it. I wonder if Diane sent the package to herself so Jeremy would be violating his parole and be sent back to prison.

Oh, cleaver! When I wrote the above the episode had just begun and I see things did play out a bit like I was saying with the law, Chance Chancellor. I had been wondering why J&D had not opened the package and then, like you, I was completly shocked when Diane suddenly went bezerk and wripped open the envelope right in front of CC whereupon he started screaming at her! One thing: Diane’s devil may care showing the mailing to Jack and later for Chance without knowing its contents shows us that she has no more hidden secrets to fear.

I don’t know why Jack just doesn’t look at the security camera footage he has to see if it was Jeremy who left the package? It doesn’t make any sense that the Abbott household is supposed to have all of this added security because of Jeremy yet he somehow just waltzes up to their front door and leaves a package right on their front door step? Don’t they have gates? As you mention, why doesn’t Jack and Diane have a retraining order against Jeremy? That way if he ever comes close to them, he would be arrested. Of course, this… Read more »

What in heavens name really happened that he’s not on the show?!

I think he got in a snit over being pushed aside as a central character when he had once been in the forefront. And Y&R may have appeared callous to him. A great guy feeling the humiliation in his own mind. And he & Y&R seem stubborn mules. CBS sees that the audience has never forgotten Paul with each afraid to make a first move. Kids, let’s sit down at the table. I think Doug Davidson feels Y&R might be clamoring for his return but only for 2 minutes whereupon he will be pushed aside again and DD isn’t going… Read more »

Maybe Paul does need to die as they can’t keep talking about him, a no-show, (now cartoon-ish in his absence) forever. Tricky his exit with he married to Christine. But a funeral as would be befitting of him would be awkward with people sobbing and remembering someone who had not aired in so long. It would be weird for Doug watching at home! ‘No, I’m not dead, Y&R just screwed me over!’ What to do about the situation with Paul?

Lol, I pretty much enjoyed/enjoy Paul through the years as much as anyone did/does, but it seems to me at times that the “Bring Back Paul” crusade has taken on a life of its own that may be eclipsng the actual character (or actor) himself. It is officially “An Issue.”

Jack sure has an optimistic outlook these days. I can understand why he would want Billy back at the family company. I just wish he would see that he needs a creative role, not a corporate one. The Chatters see that from a mile away—c’mon Jackie. I wonder if they are going to do this—and will Kyle team up with Victor to get Billy Boy fired too? Kyle’s pettiness and jealousy may become an ongoing problem? His promise to never lie to Summer again just didn’t seem like it was going to stick.

OMG, recycling Billy again with that pep talk from Jack. But Ellen zeros in on Billy needing a creative role over facts & figures at Jabot. Job waffling but this go round could always be the charm.

So many comments on Nick’s looks as he gets older by the day -like each and every one us…! If Sally doesn’t mind his ‘maturing’ (enough w/the negatives) good looks, why does anyone else? I think he’s handsome. Doesn’t mean I think Adam is any more or less. Separate considerations independent of the other. To each their own in judging attractiveness, but I won’t throw stones at anyone aging. The character is fake, but the actor is real.

And I do think the aging ‘issue’ is relevant (relationships of diff. ages, health problems, etc.) and certainly gives story fodder, but imho poking at physical characteristics is not ok. Again, just mho – disagree away!

I think it’s a soap miracle. Older men have been with younger women since time began and no one has EVER said a word. The implication being that women find older men “powerful” or “sophisticated” no matter how old or they just want their money. But when Nikki was with Arturo all hell broke loose—ewwwww, why would he even want to touch HER???? Yes, we all age and these YR folks are all quite attractive. I certainly don’t think dragging anyone’s looks in a big way is okay, but some questions about age in relationships are fair. Sharon said it… Read more »

I completely agree that age difference in relationships is a relevant topic to address, and it quickly becomes an ‘elephant in the room’ if not at least acknowledged. I don’t have any issue w/aging stories/dialogues/actors, etc., regardless the ages or surrounding plot. How characters dress, behave, interact, etc. is all designed for controversial storylines and invite viewer reaction. Fake people don’t need respect, lol, but real ones do. People look how they look, and are as old as they are… and all have the right to feel good about those things – despite who ‘they play’ on tv. (And I… Read more »

I thought it before. I will said it again. I believe that Josh Griffith is trying to either get Y&R canceled or is purposely catering to the viewers of a certain demographic and that demo is not about diversity. On the verge of the show about to celebrate 50 years, he has fired five script writers and they were all women. This may be in retaliation of CBS/Sony being made to fire Anthony Morina(for his bad behavior). And according to the reports Griffith stated that eliminating the breakdown writers responsible for mapping out the storylines- is a cost cutting move… Read more »

I don’t know about any of that. Way behind the scenes. And, in my opinion, the scenes have been good. Billy/Chelsea. Daniel/Lilly. Adam all around (I don’t even like him, and his scenes have been good.). Sally is suffering, and it shows. Nick, the hunky young man is aging, and it shows. I loved the “rewind” episode. Those behind the scenes things are behind the scenes. I am interested in the scenes. I said that.

Toni, Those scenes that you stated you enjoyed so much, was written by the writers that Josh Griffith just fired.
But for me it does matter how a business/coperation treat their employees. Especially when they get rid of them to line their pockets and not for the betterment of the product. Which in this case is Y&R. A show I had been enjoying for over 40 years. Until recently.

Agreed it matters how a business/corporation treats its employees, and how sad if/when people are/have been treated unfairly. No doubt you are relaying exact research, but I don’t always believe everything that’s out there. Dr. Phil says “No matter how flat you make a pancake, it’s always got two sides.” (I would add “…yeah, mine and the wrong one!”) Lol, I’m NOT advocating for Dr. Phil NOR do I care to bash him: I just like his quote. (Match that, Tucker McCall!)

Interesting… and it all just highlights for me that television is like any big business w/all the going-ons. Glad you are happy w/the writer you mentioned. Hopefully viewers who have been unhappy w/the writing/writers will be happy w/what results from all of this. (But I doubt it… to quote Abby – oops, I mean Taylor Swift! – “haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate…” ) Hoping YnR is enjoyable for all who watch. For me, JG is just ‘some guy,’ while it’s the GC residents who really matter! (Lol.) I trust the fantastic YnR cast will continue to do a… Read more »

Just my opinion, but I think that this may be temporary. As we have noticed with lack of sets, Y&R is on a tight budget. On top of that, this is the 50th anniversary. There will be a gala where I am seeing many actors and actresses from the past coming back, even if only for the gala. I’m sure there will be a set and decorations and they have to pay all of these people. I think they are cutting to the bone to have the budget for this anniversary, then will re-hire and bring on new, fresh (and… Read more »

The Gala that we are about to see in March, was already mapped out and the scenes filmed, was written by some of those same writers that Griffith got rid of. He stated that he will be doing ALL the writing moving forward. So, I am just curious as what this show will look like when told only through the viewpoint of one person, instead of with many different people. It really does matter.

I have no clue how many writers, producers, casting and other directors, set designers, wardrobe outfitters, etc. have changed on YnR through the zillions of years I have watched, but I’m guessing plenty. Certainly plenty of cast members have come and gone. Yet I always have and still love the show. I expect to weather these latestchanges as well. (Hope I like the new, singular viewpoint, lol.)

I am sorry to hear this. How sad for the women affected by his decision to take care of breakdown himself. Sounds like Y & R will be rewriting history unless he has some other staff to remind him of history. I remember years ago Victoria Rowell left because of diversity. You’d think by now things would have improved. Of course, I don’t know the full picture.

I won’t say I know the full story either. But one of the writers that he got rid of has been writing for the show for 32 years and another one, that was only there for 6 years, but was apart of the shows writing team that had the show’s biggest year of 2018-2019 Emmy Wins. Just seems odd that those two were let go. And one was a woman of color. So, there is that issue with diversity that Victoria Rowell alluded to.

Diversity is an applicable issue here if the woman was determined to have been fired on the basis of her race. Otherwise it has no bearing on her termination.

I just want to weigh in here on Sally and Nick. Normally, I’m rooting for Nick to get involved with anyone he’s in a scene with!!! Yay Nick! Go sexy Nick…I’ll watch that! Then there’s Sally, who also has her own sex appeal! When she first came onto the show, I couldn’t wait to see who she would hook up with. Thankfully Jack didn’t pan out but that was just a little hiccup we’ll just put over here and forget about. But then…Oh I wanted Sally and her sexiness to hook up with anyone in her scenes too! I don’t hate Nick but I hate him with Sally. The show has tried to use similar banter to Adam & Sally & be flirty but its not working. For example when Adam & Sally were saying maybe they should just keep it professional then Nick & Sally said the same thing. There are other words that have been the exact same or the same music & it makes me cringe! They are are trying to make Nick & Sally work but the writing & the actors just can’t sell it for me. The actors do say they like working… Read more »

I am starting to be more open and less judgmental about the age gap between Nick and Sally. They have open conversations and are becoming more comfortable with each other. This relationship is filling a need for both of them. Sally needs his stability and Nick is finally with a woman that is truthful and no games. I enjoyed Jack and Billy treating each other with respect and kindness. I loved Chelsea trying to guide Adam through his choices for his relationship with Sally and the new little one on the way. Low drama but very good. Much like a… Read more »
