The Y&R intro has long featured a silhouette of a woman in a long dress slowly walking toward us. And I thought I read that was Michelle Stafford………now I notice an additional figure walking with her. Does anyone know who that might be?

Ali, I beg to differ on this week’s “Who Said It”. It was not Lauren. Lauren made the quote during the June 26-30 episodes (“Consider the Gauntlet Thrown”). Last week’s quote was from LILY discussing Nate’s behavior with Devon. I’m absolutely positive. I think you may have the winners correct for this week, but it looks like you inadvertently entered the wrong name for who made the quote. If I am wrong on this, I humbly apologize. Thanks!

Ali, you mentioned last week that we wouldn’t be seeing Chance and Sharon getting together but it appears in the previews they will be after all. I know it was looking as if that wasn’t going to happen. I am not sure how I feel about them yet. I guess it may be interesting to see them romantically involved for a little while. Maybe they will have chemistry. It may be enjoyable for some time, but I know I would enjoy seeing Sharon eventually get together with Adam when they start working together.

Ali, I was sorry to hear that you missed the 4th of July classic episode. That is surprising that you weren’t able to access it. I wanted to share the Global website with you to stream it, by it is not available in the U.S. I looked into it and there are ways you can legally temporarily change your IP address. There are many websites and tutorials on youtube that tell you how to do it. If you do that, you can go to Global tv website and watch the episode on there.

It seemed strange to me that Diane was pleading Summer’s case to Kyle. Diane has been supportive of Summer, even though Summer could have ended her stint in jail sooner, but this is an overstep. Kyle should be able to muddle through his feelings for Summer without a hard sell from his mom. Diane, support you son by listening and only offer advice if asked. Of course, gift certificates to jewelers are always welcome.

The only thing worse than parents meddling in their adult children’s lives is adult children meddling in their parent’s lives. Just stop it! But this is soap land.

I am fast forwarding through the Sally scenes. Please Nick move on. Now she thinks Adam needs Nick. Get over yourself Sally. Her flat steel gray fingernails need a new softer color too. Bugging me.

It has been bugging me that the writers don’t know what to do with her character. She was ruined on B&B with that fake illness stuff. I had such high hopes for Y&R taking her back to her roots. Just watch when she first came on the scene on B&B, she was wacky and funny like her namesake. Now they have made her into a sniveling little mewly brat. Ugh. I can only hope that they have her take a step back, get back to her old mischievous confident self before there is no more redemption.

I am on Christine’s side on this one. Break that spineless EMT with a vicious prosecution cross examination. Put Summer away too. Of course Phyllis will be free in less than two weeks.
Go Sharon. Chance and Sharon will have lots of pent up sexual energy. What is up? I thought it would be Nick? Is this a decoy?

Heather-yawn. She and Daniel don’t fit at all, so why are they bringing her back? I guess the daughter will soon follow.

It will be refreshing to see a couple with a 20-year age gap with the woman being older for once. Let’s see if the fans are nasty to Sharon the way they were to Nikki when she had a fling with Arturo. People enjoy each other—whatever! (As long as everyone involved is of legal age & mentally competent that is…)

MANY viewers ragged incessantly on the Nick/Sally age gap as well. LOTS of nastiness thrown Nick’s way re: that… although some of it was prob. residual complaining from those more irritated/offended about the brother thing and just jumping on the age difference for more venting fuel. Strangely, no one was bashing Sally re:both those very things… when she was the one enabling/enjoying both the relationships w/one guy, then his brother, as well as sleeping w/an older guy… I noted no one had much negative to say re: the apparent age difference between the late Jerry Douclad and his lovely wife.… Read more »

Phyllis & her team gave us a sensational walk down the Authletic Club stairs hopefully to meet her doom with Phyllis offering up incredible face. Awaiting her, Christine greeted Phyllis with dialogue we’ve waited to hear. The DA did not disappoint and took us away from the light hearted romp the Phyllis saga has become into something more, at least for the moment. But we should still be getting a whole lot of drama out of Phyllis’ capture alongside the hijinks….

A grand hotel is the way to do it. Phyllis could have hardly turned herself in at the dumpy TGP.

I loved it when Christine told Phyllis she comes waffling down the stairs as if she is some prom queen. Phyllis just stares at Christine with a face that displays so much attitude and absolutely no remorse for some reason. I guess Phyllis feels like she has to act like she has done no wrong and that she had a good reason for all that she did. She looked so creepily at Christine like one of the Manson clan members. I hope Christine puts Phyllis away for a long while. We see too much of the actress. I would love… Read more »

Oh, the Manson girls. My favorites! And one newly freed! Yeah, yeah, it was all a performance. Phyllis was acting! And so humiliated to face the bug.she had to hold her head high. Never show that you are shamed.. Yes, prom queen, observed Christine. I was not a fan of how the townspeople allowed Phyllis to appear and disappear, to choose the time & place to possibly turn herself in – but the end result of her marching down the stairs to face her captors was really great. So well choreographed with Y&R so savvy in the use of the… Read more »

I’m no Nate fan, he blew his chance with me, boring me, but when Lily stands across from him saying, “We’re family, but I can’t get past you stabbing Devon and me in the back”, get over it. If I understood the character correctly Nate was all set to go and then last minute he gave in to an act of conscience and pulled the plug on his own deception. Hamalton/Winters (or whatever the company was) is saved! That is everything! Nate is a hero in saving himself from the devil on his shoulder. What is wrong with all these… Read more »

You are correct. Nate did refrain from betraying them. But I hope that he doesn’t stop himself from taking over Newman Enterprises. Especially after what Victor has once again done to Adam. I hope Adam does burn them to the ground. I don’t want anyone saving his soul. They have all already stomped on his heart.

Yes it was despicable. Victoria gets away with a scolding and Victor did it to Adam again, stripped him of his autonomy and stuck him right back under Victoria. Ugh

Oh, good. Phyllis now has a hack lawyer. Something is finally going right. Did Christian Jules LaBlannc die? Micael went to Barbados to work on a Gloria case? I thought she was in town working for Lauren Fenmore? Tucker McCall’s pitch to Phyllis to further terrorize Diane is so nebulous. Like how? Why? Exactly what does she have to do? Very unformed.

It seems likely that Christian LeBlanc had to leave the show due to his eye. I just read that apparently he posted online that he had had eye surgery. I hope he has a speedy recovery if this is the case. He is a great actor and his character is very likable.

Yes, but Phyllis’ whole defense is based around Michael pulling that rabbit out of his hat. It is not scriped for that Heather woman to come in. I would think Y&R might be forced to replace CJL with a new Michael than rework the script for Heather. Heather! As they were forced last minute to have a complete stranger marry Abby… But a faux Michael in the courtroom really wouldn’t work. Who knows what’s up?

Ali, A week late. But Y&R actually did have a 4th of July Broadcast Episode with the current cast. It was back in 2019. They had the Genoa City Carnival in town. I just rewatched it today.

I have to say I do get the Billy logic of suggesting to Diane she resign her new position to cool the family dynamic. I do not want Ashley welding any power and I appreciate Diane’s ego. She can always be re-appointed later. Hard to see how this would exactly play out. What do others think about this? We have script writers in Chatville who can better move this scenario along… Should Diane go or stay? Confused in CA.

I am with you. I think Billy suggesting that Diane temporarily resign, would be a good move on Diane’s part to prove to The Abotts, that no matter what she do Ashley is determined to wreck havoc.
But I still believe somehow that Diane and Tucker are working together. I actually believe that Jeremy Stark was working with them too. Because how is it, that Victor Newman, with all his resources couldn’t find Carson, for weeks. But Tucker found him in one day. I think he already knew where he was.

The infamous ambulance driver that supposedly died along with Phyllis in the staged accident.

Carson is the EMT, that verified to Chance, that Phyllis and the Ambulance Driver died in the supposedly fiery crash.

Well, I should know that but I don’t remember him having a name. Everyone refers to this fantom in the night as EMT, whatever that is. Emergency tecnition? No. Haven’t been in any ambulances lately or watched Dr. Kildare so how am I supposed to know that? I know this. Carson was supposed to be in Tahiti by the time of the Stark killing so its going to be a real leap in logic if he actually happened to be using Phyllis & Jeremy’s Motel 6 bathroom at the exact time the firey couple took their disagreement from the living… Read more »

Occured to me that one of the things that makes Diane so attractive is that while she is vunerable she is also extremely, quietly, self confident. Both demure and bold. And sophisticated. She doesn’t have to try as hard as some of the other characters seem to think they need to do to be noticed. Diane just is. Would this play as any kind of factor in how she is able to drive her enemies wild?

Did anyone else catch Audra’s eye roll at Kyle while he was debating her job offer in bed? It switched so quickly to a smile when she realized she had him on the hook. Her claws are fully embedded and no one knows. She’s good!

Ashley self-awareness regarding Tucker is nonexistent. She seems to think Tucker enjoys playing along with her plans. He has told her many times he is in love with her and wants her to reciprocate his feelings. Ashley made it very clear today, she is not ever going there. Tucker needs to accept this fact. If Tucker isn’t willing to accept unrequited love, it’s time to move on. But please Tucker, stay in GC.

I don’t know. About everybody ends up in love on soaps dispite themselves. Of course Ashley has had a lobotomy. Ashley points up to Tucker, “I know you like to be teased”. But that pouting lad suggests something different. Tucker you can not sulk your way into true romance with the wall that has always been Ashley. Ashley has always put on a gret veneer but has been broken from as far back as I can remember. Half a woman. A Abbott, you make my blood boil.

Ashley is going to push Tucker to the point of him turning on her. I actually felt sad for him, asking/begging Ashley to say she loves him. When clearly she doesn’t. She knows that Tucker does love her and she is willing to use him. To get what she wants. But she may be about to get a rude awakening.
