Sharon’s puffy-sleeved bomber jacket has beautiful colors. However, the puffy was too puffy. The pattern in the jacket was more suited to be found in the “Back to School” aisle in the form of a water bottle sleeve.
I voted Nick will be next guy for Chelsea. They were together before and he is unattached at the moment
Could be mistaken but while MM was said to be the first African American to win best actress, I believe in what must have been supporting over lead, Debbi Morgan from All My Children was actually the first to score. Debbi was Angie Hubbard, a teen friend of Greg & Jenny who went on to be Pine Valley’s most respected doctor. She would later play Devon’s druggie mother on Y&R to lesser success.
You are correct. It was Supporting for Debbi Morgan. But LEAD for Mishael Morgan. It’s a big difference.
Debbi Morgan is phenomenal. She won for supporting actress. Michelle Morgan Is the first black female to win as lead actress. She is very deserving. It has taken daytime many years to add diversity to its lead acting roles. There were always standouts along the way, but no awards.
Get a load of striking Melody Thomas S at the Daytime Emmy’s with her beautiful profile and sophisticated continuance. She never laughed, smiled or spoke to anyone so engrossed was she at what was happening on stage. A+
The great Amanda Sinclair was so shocked to win and jumbled they were getting ready to get a cane to drag her off stage she had so much to say & sort out. I mean it in a good way!
She was first woman of color to win best actress, she deserved to say whatever she wants

I was surprised Y&R didn’t win more, GH got mostly everything
Happy to see that the Daytime Emmys became star-studded again. Not that it wasn’t star-studded before but glad to see we’re getting to see more of the veterans: Peter Bergman, Melody Thomas Scott, Susan Lucci, etc. Wish Eric Braeden was there.
Chelsea ran into several male characters this week at the park. There must be a reason for this? I feel like Y&R is testing the chemistry of Chelsea with the different characters to see what the audience’s feedback will be. They seem to want the viewers opinion on who to pair Chelsea with. That would be interesting. I definitely don’t want to see her with Nick again as we have already been down that road. I think Chelsea needs someone new, not being a home wrecker with Kyle or Chance or even Adam at this point. Maybe Nick ? He is unattached at the moment
Loved Gloria’s “G” necklace. It’s very Gloria like. I thought of you Ali when I saw Gloria this week and her choice of jewelry.
Imani is going to take advantage of Elena’s work trip by making a move on Nate. I am not sure what she has planned but I look forward to seeing what length Imani will go to get Nate’s attention.
Because Elena will be out of town, Imani will seduce Nate. He is being ignored by Elena. He likes the attention from Imani, that’s why he hasn’t told her to stop . They will get together this time
I hope I am not too late to the chat this week! Busy week at it is the last week of school for us. That being said I was thinking that Victoria is being sincere with Ashland as she didn’t make any faces that said otherwise. I started to change my mind again when she called Nicholas discreetly and didn’t want Ashland to know. I agree. She is playing Ashland, making him think she loves him. She wants him to lose all his money and i think she is working with Victor on this. But poor Adam isn’t. He will lose to Victoria again when she comes back to Newman
Is General Hospital really that good?? I tried watching it again last year and didn’t like it. I feel like Y&R should have won outstanding drama!
I watch Y&R out of 40 something years of loyalty, but mostly now for Tessa and Sally’s characters. But I also feel that General Hospital is more relatable regarding everyday people and family life. Y&R, now is all about a rich powerful man trying to out do another’s or control his grown children. There is no longer your average working class citizen on this show. Ooh, you have a point there. The pandemic may have also affected GH because it probably resonated with doctors, nurses, etc.
When I saw that retrospective of “General Hospital” I was appalled. Where is Nurse Jessie, Dr. Hardy, Audrey and the HOSPITAL as they were when I came out of the womb? I only saw Sony doing his mafia thing.
It don’t believe it was a retrospective. The show had a cast member introduce their show’s submission for consideration of best drama. Personally, I found it laughable and ironic that Y&R used Cait Fairbanks(Tessa) song over their clip. As they totally do not invest in her character.
Those days were great but long gone, they have to show the present characters what is happening now to get people to watch
I get it! But more than any other re-vamped soap General Hospital is such a culture shock from the original concept! I’m stubborn and am going to cling to what I remember from running home from grammer school to see it!
GH was good when John Beradino was there. May he rest in peace.
I watch GH and yes it is that good ,but I think Y&R could have won, even B&B had good storylines recently. Y&R Was number 1 for years, maybe isn’t anymore
Y&R could have won with the Ashland/Tara storyline last year or Amanda’s storyline where she meets her biological mother (this storyline is my favorite)
I thought Chelsea looked really pretty this week in Chancellor Park. I liked the light color pairing w/the simple-cut sleeveless top and skirt. The wide belt was actually a nice touch (seeing as how YnR wardrobe tends to over-use it in an often not-flattering way on other characters). She looked summer-casual and very refreshing- mostly because there was no in-your-face glitz, spandex, day-glo color, or cut-outs! Easy on the eyes- both literally and figuratively. Chelsea and Diane -dressing down and classing up (well-in style, anyway).
Susan Walters is an expert at giving sarcastic looks and then suddenly turning them into sincerity. Her interaction with Phyllis today was so cat and mouse. Phyllis has definitely met her match. Diane is going to turn this truce to her advantage. She’s already started manipulating it with Jack. When Jack goes to meet Phyllis, he’ll already be skeptical.

I found it funny during the press conference that when it was shown on camera of Victor talking in the CEO chair, that Adam and Sally’s heads were cut off standing behind him. The camera cut them off at their chests. Why not do a wider shot to get all executives faces. I just think on camera that would look super strange.
I thought the same thing, that looked ridiculous, They should not have stood behind Victor if they only wanted him in the shot
OMG. Victoria hates Ashland and is bankrupting him.
Hate to see it, but could Victoria actually possibly fall in love with him again along the way to ruin?
I haven’t seen the end episodes of this week yet to know if you are certain or surmising. So maybe a Victoria end game was revealed… but if not- if Victoria IS playing Adhland again, then what would THIS end game be? I don’t think she cares much about the money Victor gave him, nor do I think it was seeming to matter much to her if he stayed in GC. I thought his half-ownership of Newman whatever-it-was-called was voided for whatever-that-reason-was. His big con has seemed enough for her to wash her hands of him and not care much… Read more »
Let me know what you think. Not spelled out but Victoria is revealed to be playing some kind of game with Ashland. I don’t get an end game either? Well, off to Daytime Emmys. I’m actually taping it for later so I can fast forward through all the rig-a-miral. I can watch the whole thing in 10 minutes. I resent hosts like Mario Lopez. Why is Summer pushing her mom to make a truce with Diane in person? I don’t see anyone forcing her to do that with Sally!
Sally is not a member of her family. Diane is her Husband’s Mother. Sally may be dating Adam, for which I love. But let’s be real, those real nasty Newmans only tolerate and use him. I do not like Victor at all.
