I’m open to a recast to keep an iconic character(James Bond comes to mind) but, I think it is almost impossible to pull it off when someone has been playing the part for multiple decades. My sense of loyalty kicks in when it comes to an iconic main character like Jill. I can adapt to a new actress but, the change feels more like mourning a loss than embracing a new addition.

If Jess Walton needs to retire then a new Jill is fine and I really like this new one!

It would be hard to adjust to a new Jill so I voted no, but if they did it, I’m sure I’d come around.

Doug Williams… Read more »

I am in favor of a recast of Jill. If Jess Walton could FaceTime more often, that could have worked. Jill is a legacy character. She would be helpful in influencing the younger generation; Reed, Johnnie and Katie. If Jill and Billy would stay and work through their issues, Jill could be a support to Billy. Also, Jill needs to make it clear to Billy that he is her son and Cain’s is someone she is fond of. The impact of this would be greater if Jill is on my screen with her fellow actors and not on a phone… Read more »

I voted no way, but have to admit the actress who filled in was good as Jill. It may be inevitable at some point but if Jess Walton is up to doing it I prefer her as Jill.
