Considering Mariah came on the show pretending to be ghost Cassie for money from Victor to find out Sharon’s secret and even after she learned that Sharon was actually her mom she still continued to be after Nick, I think Mariah can forgive and understand Tessa shortcomings and instinct to look out for her self consequences be damned. I’m rooting for them to stay together and for Tessa to become the new Mother Teresato atone for her sins. Why is the magic number always, 250,000 dollars isn’t that the same amount of money found in the walls of Chelsea’s apartment… Read more »

Mariah really made this complicated. She DEMANDS to know the SECRET that Nikki paid Tessa to hush. Tessa told Mariah “you’re not going to like this” and then Mariah blames Tessa for her behavior. Two wrongs don’t make a right, but I think Tessa found an excellent solution to her problem! lol These women won’t miss $250K and they are the criminals. Mariah has been one of my favourite characters, regardless of who she is in a relationship with. I do hope that she and Tessa can make it work. If it doesn’t work out with Tessa, that’s fine, but it would be a shame if they if don’t continue with the fact that Mariah might be interested in other woman. Her character has grown so much over the years, and to sweep this part of her under the rug would be sad, although I understand that people don’t want to see it on the show.

I hav never gotten into the character of Tessa since she has been on the show and think there is a greater romance out there for Mariah. I am okay to see Tessa go.

Yes, I absolutely 120% want Teriah to prevail. Is Tessa hiding something? Yes. Is she the blackmailer? We don’t know. Is she partnering with someone else if she is? Again, we don’t know. All we know is she is hiding a big bag of money even though she asked Mariah to move in with her. Where did it come from? We don’t know. We still know nothing other than she’s keeping a secret and it will cause drama and the girls will need to work it out. All we have are little hints – Nick telling her she would need… Read more »
Tessa loves Mariah but she was not above stealing lyrics from her diary in order to advance her recording career. We must also recall that in her quest to pursue a relationship with Noah she readily discarded whatever affections she harbored for Mariah. Did she decide that she loved Noah over Mariah or that a heterosexual relationship with Noah might perhaps prove more beneficial to her music career? More importantly, are these reactions an indication of a stable individual; a person with whom one would entertain the thought of a loving relationship? That’s just it – the reasons for why she stayed with Noah over Mariah were never made clear to the audience or the characters. I blame shotty writing over Tessa, though. When Noah asked her why she stayed with him, I got the feeling it was because he was a man and it was safer, or that she was afraid of hurting Mariah by being with her due to her own mysterious past. Tessa stole the lyrics, as you imply, under duress. But, it is important to recall the specifics of her peccadillo, she was under pressure by Devon to come up with another hit song. Was her earlier success due to her being inspired by Mariah? That is mere speculation. What we can determine is that when her psyche is placed in a dire situation she takes the most expeditious solution available, in this case, stealing the lyrics from Mariah’s diary. Her background is a giant blank slate, not Tessa’s fault, so some can interpret her negatively – a criminal, a grifter – others positively – tough, loving. We don’t know anything about what Tessa has been doing because the writers haven’t showed us, so it’s really hard to judge. She isn’t cheating on Mariah the way Nick/Phyllis have been going at it in front of Sharon for example, so it’s hard to have such a negative opinion of her that way. Of course I’m happy! Tessa fans wanted to see this girl get an actual backstory for ages! She didn’t say she was going to scam everyone, but her target was Noah. But you saw her be conflicted the whole time as she was falling in love with Mariah. When Noah left her she didn’t care. I would not equate what the Margarita Crew has done to what Tessa’s putative blackmail scheme represents on the scale of evil deeds. For one, the killing of JT falls easily within the realm of justifiable homicide. Nikki’s blow, which delivered the end of JT, was committed in defense of her daughter Victoria while she was in the midst of an assault by JT. Her strike, at no given moment, was intended to kill JT, it was merely to stop the threat her ex son-in-law posed to her daughter. Tessa has changed, but slowly. She still has a foot back in her shady past, but she also made strides. She tried to hold on to the Noah scheme until it was too late and she just didn’t care anymore. He was never important to begin with – the important thing was she hurt Mariah and she needed to make those amends. When her plan went up in smoke, she could have left and found another sucker. She only confessed because Mariah saw her retrieve the money from the mattress and decided to confront her with the facts. Who knows what would happen if that little accident had not occurred.
I believe as you do Tessa loves Mariah but her twisted moral compass makes a fully committed love affair practically impossible to visualize.
Not impossible for me, and I can guess Mariah, as Mariah sees in Tessa where she was and how far she can go. They make each other better that way. Tessa is inspired to try and be a better person. Mariah, who used to hate talking about her feelings, is now all talky talk with Kyle and Devon if not Sharon. I find it sweet. How could Tessa be so sure some of that $250,000 was not coming off of Sharon’s hide? Sure, it is easy to calculate that at the very least the lion’s share was coming from Nikki but she could not be absolutely certain that Sharon’s commitment would not prove in the end to be an onerous burden upon Sharon. Sharon, as best we can tell, is no millionairess and $250,000 is no chump change.
It doesnt matter because Sharon isn’t the only one being blackmailed. She wasn’t the only one responsible to pay. If Nikki didnt pay all they’d all go down (in theory). But if they didn’t pay, Tessa would need to find another way. She would not send Sharon to jail for no reason. Hello there! I am new :). But I watch the podcast every week and of course the show. I really was rooting for them very much. But after seeing where tghe storyline goes and the secret that Tessa’s blackmailing these women . I really understand the motive why Tessa is gathering the moneyto pay the bad guys because she want to protect her sister , I mean who wouldn;t do somethign like that for a family? Then I thought is it really that or she just want to gather that monmey for her own selfish purpose and that makes me… Read more »
Ooh. Very interesting comment about Carrie being a Johnson. They could rewrite history–again and just a little–since there was an attraction storyline with Mamie and John, Carrie might think she could be a blood Abnott.

I vote no because this particular relationship seems forced. Forced on us and forced in performance. These actresses have proven to be great, Camryn in particular since we have watched her for a long time. They “act” like they are trying to make this happen to fit a peg into a requisite storyline. Now how to get them out of it? Tessa is sneaky, has all that money. Starry eyed Mariah might accept that, but as Ali said, she won’t accept it because of Sharon’s involvement. I feel Tessa has remained on the show because of Mariah. I have always felt any good will the writers have for Tessa is because her storyline is attached to Mariah. Tessa will be a 2 year character come January and is the only character remaining from the new characters introduced in 2017. I like her better as a schemer than just a romantic interest of Mariah. I find her more interesting when she is in trouble.

I swear Mariah can’t catch a break.I am not surprised at all about Tessa and the money. I highly suspect Tessa is the one who is imo blackmailing Sharon, Nikki, Phyllis and Victoria. Where did that money in her bag come from?
Tessa DOES look like Snow White! Wouldn’t that have been a way awesomer Halloween costume for her, instead of Cher? Tessa could have been Snow White, and Mariah could have been the Evil Queen!!!
