Just for sake of debate I will be on Devon’s team. He and Nate obviously have different views of business decisions. Nate still operates with a doctor’s outlook on the world. He was a skilled surgeon and chief of surgery. He was used to making literally life or death decisions on a daily basis. I think surgeons have to be risk takers and move quickly with bold confidence else how could one make that first cut. With all that said, this type of thought process has led to several problems. The announcement of 50 podcasts was a big Ooopsie that… Read more »

Nate does not realize the big picture and moving parts of running a business. Ultimately, it’s not his business to make the final call. Nate is still salty about not being able to do surgeries anymore and. I don’t think he would care if he ruin Devon’s business career like he feels Devon ruined his medical career. However I do think Devon should be extra gracious to make it harder for Nate to feel slighted.

Team Nate. Devon’s attitude toward and interactions with Nate have been so demeaning that I no longer know or care if any of Devon’s concerns are warranted. Devon’s nastiness is just nullifying any validity he purports to have.
Team Nate- Devon is so jealous he can’t see straight. He knows that Nate can potentially take away the one thing he has over him which is the business head. He has lost a lot to Nate and he is not about to let him get more. It is not a good look on Devon.

100% team Nate here. Ellen is right, dude is a COO and he should be able to make unilateral and bold decisions. Maybe they should try settling this on the basketball court like Malcom and Neil used to. It would get out of control real fast. I’m thinking Billy will be out and Nate will jump to Lily’s side of the company, leaving Devon to pout things out on Elenas shoulder.

Nate was hired to be COO, not a low level trainee. A COO has autonomy and authority. Devon should let Nate do his job and see if he sinks or swims. Or, just fire him immediately and accept that his relationship with his cousin will never be the same. This obnoxious micromanaging is absurd.

I voted for Nate. I don’t think Devon gives Nate a chance to express his ideas and thinks he doesn’t want to answer to him. But Nate does have experience being a leader, and is smart but maybe should run his ideas with Devon before implementing them This started with the launch and Nate promising 50 podcasts. Devon has not trusted Nate since then
