I voted revenge because right now Devon can’t see past his own anger.

I agree, I know he’s grieving and all but Devon is getting on my nerves playing the blame game. Yes, Lily was neglectful but she didn’t do it on purpose and I think 20 years is way to steep for that. People who have done worse, intentional crimes get less than that. What solidified it for me that Devon wants revenge is when he basically said to Cane that he doesn’t care if Lily never sees her kids again while being in prison. That’s cold, whatever contempt he has for Lily at this time, her kids (his niece and nephew)… Read more »

A situation where Lily were to get out of jail time, would be that it wasn’t actually Lily’s fault, but Nate’s. Maybe he preformed the procedure too early, just like the other physician protested. Maybe Nate killed Hilary and her baby, in the attempt to save his cousin from the same pain he just experienced just a year ago.

I think he thinks justice but it will explode into revenge it this story continues. I wonder if it will continue to a point where viewers will no longer root for the character of Devon.

I’ll be the counterpoint here. On the chat, Ali said justice is blind. However, all the calls for leniency are from people who care for Lily. If a stranger killed your child and partner because they were rage driving and you sought a prison sentence, would any of you honestly call that “revenge”?
[Reposted comment from Dianna]: “Lily failed to stop which is what she will most likely be charged with or possibly careless or wreckless driving.”

I am leaning towards Devon wanting justice for his family rather than revenge against Lily. Devon is clearing hurting and in deep grief over the death of his wife Hilary and baby. IMO, it will be awhile before Devon forgive Lily.
