I hope it is John but would rather it be Phillip Chancellor over any past characters (Neil Fenmore, Stuart Brooks, Carl Williams, Rex Sterling, etc..) who had daughters who were once involved with Jack. A new character would have been an opportunity to bring in a new patriarch to go against Victor. Maybe since the actor who played Tucker is leaving Days of Our Lives, he could come back to Y&R at some point.

Thad Luckinbill (who plays the part of J T) does in fact have an identical twin, Trent. Trent is a lawyer and the younger of the two. They are 12 minutes apart! My “Google/ Wikepedia Searching” did not reveal he has ever filled in on the Y&R. I’m not sure acting is his thing.

Reason I have contributed so much here (“Seriously Gary, tell us how you really feel”) is because the time period of Phillip Chancellor – the original Kay/Phillip/Jill story is, for me, the best Y&R ever created. Everything else pales, and I am ‘a dog with a bone’ never letting go. And yes, a bummer, I suppose, reaching the pinnacle with Y&R’s 1st-ish tale. Where does a poor person like me have left to go???

I find your connection to “The Young and The Restless” fascinating. When was that storyline broadcast? I believe it was in 1975 or thereabouts. I imagine Phillip Chancellor had many of the same qualities as John Abbott, or in otherwords, an
outstanding pillar of the community. I remember another character possessing the same caliber of moral rectitude at that time and that was Stuart Brooks. I wonder how you would compare the two?

Thanx for asking Zoper, (really) and as you would guess, I am eager to answer! Let me try to be brief: I would say all the men are connected as a type, fulfilling that excellent grown men of leadership and moral character slot that a show revolves around and has to have. (Somebody’s got to do it!) I’m thinking Stuart Brooks and John Abbott were more alike than was Phillip Chancellor. My take is that the cosmetics king was the gentlest of the men. The newspaper publisher was a little bit harder edged – maybe it was his job or… Read more »

You might be surprised to learn Gary that I actually witnessed “The Young and The Restless” during its first year on television. It was during the summer of 1973 when I began to see the exploits of the first cast which consisted of the Brooks family and the Fosters and I know I need not remind you of what the show was like back then but a point I want to get across is that in the summer of 1973 not only was the show bereft of the Newmans or Abbotts, but not even Katherine Chancellor or Phillip was on… Read more »

A different, sensible perspective in saying it doesn’t matter. At 64, learning you are not the biological child of X is major food for thought, but breaking off as the young rebel on a journey of self discovery? Were it me and it was revealed I was actually hatched from the seed of PC after a lifetime of being raised by JA, I imagine I would be completely jarred by the secret of the biology, but feeling so – detached by the idea of Phillip. Jack most definitely does not need to forge an identity as Phillip Chancellor’s son! As… Read more »

What I meant to say more simply, the idea of Jack so WANTING to be Chancellor is ridiculous.

I don’t even believe Jack isn’t an Abbot. I think we are going to find out Dina was confused when she made the video and none of that is even true. I think They just need long drawn out storyline for Dina while they decide how and when she will exit the show. I feel like it’s not that far away. Maybe November sweeps.

And that would be Brenda Dixon and not Jess Walton who designed & personalized that headstone…
I feel the need to get it ALL in!

FUN FACT FOLKS: If we ever make it to the Chancellor back yard, Phillip’s original headstone read: “ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW VERY MUCH WE LOVE YOU”, referring to Jill and her unborn baby. With Kay in the hospital after, in a rage, she drove herself and Phillip off a cliff (“If I can’t have him, no one can”), Jill, as Phillip’s new wedded in the hospital wife immediately moved herself and her poor family into the Chancellor house where she was in charge of the memorial plaque. I don’t remember this happening, but if the ARHVMWLY sentiment is no longer posted,… Read more »

In truth, I’m good with Y&R’s FAKE NEWS story. Any publicity is good publicity and I’m on board with anything that keeps the Chancellor name at the top of the headlines!

Although it would be enjoyable to watch Jack and Cane battle it out for CEO of Chancellor Industries, there’s got to be more intrigue to the story of Jack’s paternity

I feel it came on too quick and simple for Phillip Chancellor to be Jacks biological father. He sees a photograph, Dina very quickly agreed and if they even do a DNA test, that’s it?! I still firmly believe Jack is John Abbott’s son. The Abotts are a power family in Genoa city and who is left then? Traci and Billy? There has to be more Abotts then them!

PHLLIP CHANCELLOR IS A ONE OF A KIND, SELF-MADE ORIGINAL!
I do not want every Tom, Dick and Harry coming along trying to bask under his glow…

As Jill is not Katherine Chancellor’s daughter, so Jack is not the son of Phillip Chancellor either.
That’s all! That’s it! Go back to your own family camp, Jack Abbott! Speak no more.
